In a recent tweet, Ripple Chief Technology Officer Emeritus David Schwartz highlighted the usefulness of the Ripple USD stablecoin in payments in response to questions from users. $RLUSD You can make it a neutral bridge like this $XRP that’s right.
Schwartz did not give a direct answer, instead saying “yes and no” and continuing to explain his position. According to Ripple’s Honorary Chief Technology Officer (CTO): $RLUSD Although it can be used as a bridge, it is not a neutral bridge. This is because Ripple, which can freeze or claw back Ripple, is tied to the United States (where courts can order Ripple to act).
Yes and no. $RLUSD It can be used as a bridge, but it is not neutral because it is tied to Ripple (which can freeze Ripple and scratch it back) and the United States (where courts can order Ripple to act).

$XRP Represents a neutral, decentralized bridge asset for the purpose of transferring value. $RLUSDMeanwhile, it is a fiat-pegged stablecoin that aims to bring price stability to Ripple’s growing payment solutions.
meanwhile $RLUSD Its use as a means of payment and settlement is increasing and its use is deepening. $XRPserves as a bridge asset for these flows.
$RLUSD This will enable financial institutions to facilitate instant settlement of cross-border payments, access liquidity for remittances and treasury operations, integrate with decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols, and ensure a bridge between traditional fiat and crypto ecosystems.
$RLUSD is fully integrated into Ripple Payments, allowing Ripple to leverage it to facilitate global payments on behalf of its enterprise customers.
Freeze and clawback feature
The freeze feature mentioned by Ripple’s CTO Emeritus allows token issuers to prevent abuse by frozen account holders. This prevents flagged addresses from sending or receiving tokens until the trust line is unfrozen, helping issuers comply with sanctions and other regulatory requirements.
Clawback allows issuers to take back tokens from users’ wallets under certain conditions.
Ripple prepares for post-quantum support with XRPL
Ripple has introduced a multi-step roadmap to become post-quantum ready by 2028. This approach begins with active testing of quantum-resistant cryptography and a hybrid rollout that runs in parallel with existing systems before expansion.
Ripple is collaborating with Project Eleven in this regard to accelerate development such as validator testing and initial storage prototypes.
