HashKey Exchange, Shanghai Commercial Bank and Visa have launched a co-branded credit card in Hong Kong.
Eligible HashKey Exchange members can apply for the Shanghai Commercial Bank HashKey Visa Signature Credit Card through both companies’ mobile applications.
The card connects everyday spending with benefits that customers can use at authorized exchanges. This program does not pay out cryptocurrencies directly. Instead, convert your reward points into HashKey HKD Cash Vouchers every month. Users can apply their vouchers towards cryptocurrency purchases or transaction fees.

During the promotional period, the card offers up to 4% off
Shanghai Commercial Bank’s card product page lists a 2% benefit on eligible domestic spend and 4% benefit on eligible international spend during the promotional period. New customers can also receive up to HK$1,200 in HashKey HKD Cash Vouchers or HK$1,000 in spending credits, subject to the terms of the offer.
Cardholders earn 1 point for every HK$1 spent. On each monthly statement date, the program will convert 250 points into HK$1 of HashKey HKD Cash Vouchers. Customers receive a voucher in their HashKey account that they can use to purchase supported cryptocurrencies or offset transaction fees.
Shanghai Commercial Bank issues and manages cards
Shanghai Commercial Bank issues the cards and handles all banking and credit services. According to HashKey’s credit card disclosure information, the exchange does not provide credit or banking services. The bank also decides whether to approve each application.
Entrants must have a HashKey account, reside in Hong Kong, and be at least 18 years of age. The application starts on the HashKey mobile app before redirecting the user to the Shanghai Commercial Bank app. The card will also light up during contactless payments.
HashKey targets practical use of digital assets
HashKey Exchange Business Group CEO Haiyang Ru said the partnership aims to expand the use of regulated digital assets beyond trading. He said the company wants to move “beyond speculative trading” by connecting digital assets with a broader range of financial services.
Visa Hong Kong and Macau general manager Paulina Leung said the two companies aim to connect digital asset services with familiar payment methods. Visa will provide the payment network, and the bank and HashKey will manage cards, benefits, and customer accounts under their respective regulated roles.
The product follows an announcement in October 2025 that Shanghai Commercial Bank and HashKey plan to develop a co-branded Visa card. With launch in July, this plan will become a product that can be claimed by eligible exchange members.
Entering Asia’s Growing Cryptocurrency Point Card Market
HashKey is one of the first exchanges to be licensed to serve retail crypto customers in Hong Kong. As reported by crypto.news, the platform will launch licensed retail operations in August 2023 and supports direct bank transfers in Hong Kong dollars and US dollars.
The card comes as HashKey expands as a publicly traded digital asset company. In June, the company’s board approved a share buyback plan worth up to HK$100 million, as the company’s share price rose from recent lows.
Elsewhere, other Asian financial groups are also linking card spending with digital asset rewards. As previously reported, SBI and Visa introduced a Japanese credit card program tied to Bitcoin, Ether, and XRP rewards in May.
The HashKey program uses a different structure. Customers receive a voucher denominated in Hong Kong dollars and choose whether to use it to purchase cryptocurrencies. Rather than paying in cryptocurrency directly at checkout, this model keeps credit card, redemption, and exchange transactions as separate steps.
