Powerloom, a blockchain network built for decentralized data infrastructure, is scheduled to go down permanently on July 21 at 6 a.m. UTC. As of this article, users who still hold POWER or other transferable assets on the network have less than 24 hours to move them to Ethereum.
Currently, Powerloom’s official exit page states that the bridge is active. The project’s final reminder instructed users to initiate withdrawals through the official bridge and complete their Ethereum claims before the deadline.
This bridge is only for balances that are already transferable in Powerloom. Reward claiming, unstaking, and node burning ended when mint.powerloom.network went offline at 6:00 AM UTC on July 16th.
Powerloom states that any unclaimed rewards, staked POWER, or node slot funds that were still dependent on these dashboard workflows will no longer be recoverable. The remaining eligible group are holders with liquid on-chain balances. There is no recovery path for users waiting to claim or unstake.
Things that disappear after the deadline
Power Room states that the chain will stop producing blocks upon shutdown. Arbitrum-based bridges stop functioning because they no longer have access to the contracts and state on the network, and there is no behavioral source chain to connect to.
This dependency is the broader risk behind the deadline. Bridges only work if both sides of the transfer are available. If one of the underlying chains becomes obsolete, the egress route can disappear even if the destination network remains operational. In the case of a power room, a balance left behind can become stuck with the chain inaccessible.
The POWER held by Ethereum will remain separate from the shutdown. Power room has a contract with ERC-20 0x429F0d8233e517f9acf6F0C8293BF35804063a83 is immutable and remains accessible on-chain. Deadlines apply to the status of assets and applications left in Powerloom, including any balances not bridged within the deadline. The POWER contract already deployed on the Ethereum network has passed its deadline.
In a June 15 exit announcement, Powerloom founders said they had concluded that the project lacked a sustainable operating model, continued ecosystem demand, and sufficient resources to support the network long-term.
The founders said:
“After a thorough review of the future direction of Power Room, Swaroop and I have decided to terminate Power Room.
This is not the result we wanted. Powerloom began with the clear belief that on-chain applications should have access to a reliable, verifiable, decentralized data infrastructure. Over the years, the team and community have helped realize that vision through multiple phases, including testnet, mainnet, snapshotter participation, data markets, validator infrastructure, and developer products.
This is a bittersweet farewell for both of us as founders and, hopefully, for the friends we have made along the way. “
Prior to its exit, Powerloom had launched a decentralized sequencer validator network and BDS data marketplace alongside infrastructure for snapshotters, validators, and developers.
Affected users currently face a fixed deadline. If you move your transferable assets to Ethereum and do not complete your application by 6am UTC on July 21st, you will no longer be able to access them once the Powerloom chain and its bridges go down.
