Blockchain.com has partnered with Polymarket to bring predictive market trading directly into the app for users in targeted markets around the world.
The integration will allow users to explore, open and manage positions related to real-world events without connecting to an external wallet or transferring assets to another platform, the companies announced on Tuesday.
Users can participate using digital assets already held in their Blockchain.com account, eliminating additional onboarding steps and deposit fees associated with moving between platforms.
The announcement comes as prediction market activity reaches record levels during the finals of the global soccer tournament.
According to the announcement, Polymarket generated more than $4.2 billion in trade volume across tournament-related markets. Over the past 365 days, the total amount of soccer-related transactions on the platform has exceeded $5 billion.
“Partnering with Polymarket allows us to instantly expand our feature set into the fastest growing cryptocurrency sector at the very moment global interest is at its peak,” said Peter Smith, Founder, CEO, and Executive Chairman of Blockchain.com.
Smith said embedding the marketplace directly into Blockchain.com will allow eligible users to participate without having to move between external platforms.
Polymarket allows users to trade contracts based on the expected outcome of politics, economics, sports, and other real-world events. Prices on the platform reflect the probabilities assigned to each outcome by market participants.
“Through this partnership, eligible Blockchain.com users will have access to the world’s largest information marketplace within the platform where they already manage their digital assets,” said Shayne Coplan, founder and CEO of Polymarket.
Blockchain.com said it has more than 43 million verified users in more than 70 jurisdictions. The company has processed over $1.1 trillion in cryptocurrency transactions since its founding in 2011.
The companies did not provide a complete list of markets where the new Polymarket integration will be available.
