Bitcoin transaction fees have been plummeting for some time, especially as the market begins another bearish trend. This has continued as engagement has fallen to levels not seen in years and fees have followed the same trajectory. Recently, the collapse has become so severe that Bitcoin transaction fees have reached levels they haven’t reached in over a decade.
Bitcoin transaction fees fell below $0.3.
Analyst Crypto Tice pointed out an interesting development in the Bitcoin network, showing that transaction fees have now fallen to a 15-year low. Bitcoin transaction fees are currently so low that they remain at levels not seen since 2011, when the network was still in its infancy, according to a Glassnode chart shared by the analyst.
Data from the Bitinfocharts website corroborates this fact by showing a consistent decline in Bitcoin transaction fees over the past year. Currently, the website is breaking records, with average transaction fees plummeting to new levels of just $0.22.
This drop in Bitcoin transaction fees shows how badly the cryptocurrency and its network have been hit by the current bear market. As participation decreases, so does liquidity, but that doesn’t always mean it’s a bad value.

BTC Price Could Soar
Looking at previous cycle performance, Bitcoin bull markets always seem to begin when all hope seems lost. One indicator of this is that average transaction fees also fall as network participation stops and the network is no longer clogged.
But what this does do is set the stage for a possible upward move. When liquidity falls to low levels, it means new inflows can push prices up quickly because there is little resistance waiting for them. It also leaves room for investors to quickly return to the market as prices continue to rise.
However, as is the case in a bear market, it may take some time for the Bitcoin price to recover. In terms of sentiment, Bitcoin has recently recovered, with the Fear & Greed Index moving from Extreme Fear to Fear. This means that investors are starting to calm down and view the markets more favorably.
