The famous Satoshi Nakamoto statue, an innovative visual illusion, was designed by Italian artist Valentina Picozzi. He is behind the art project Satoshi Gallery, which has brought Satoshi statues to five cities.
We imagined an impressive visual in which Satoshi’s profile appears when viewed from an angle, and becomes almost transparent when viewed from the front.
Cantor Fitzgerald Chairman Brandon Lutnick tweeted about the milestone on XPost: “Satoshi has come to America. We are so proud to bring this powerful sculpture to the city of Miami.” Lutnick also shared an image of himself and Strategy Chair Michael Saylor unveiling the statue.
Saylor remains a strong supporter of Bitcoin, and under his watch, Strategy holds 641,692 BTC. In the latest such acquisition, a Bitcoin treasury firm purchased 487 BTC for approximately $49.9 million earlier in the week.
Satoshi’s legacy remains
In September, a bronze statue honoring Bitcoin’s mysterious founder Satoshi Nakamoto was unveiled in Hanoi, Vietnam, becoming another example of such works of art dedicated to Satoshi around the world.
According to a recent post by Satoshi Gallery, similar statues honoring the Bitcoin founder have been erected in Switzerland, El Salvador, and Japan, and the U.S. statue is the fifth in the project.
A bronze statue representing Bitcoin’s pseudonymous creator was unveiled at the Plan B Bitcoin Forum on October 25, 2024, as Swiss Tether and Lugano move to brand the city as a global Bitcoin hub. However, the statue was later stolen and recovered in August of this year.
