Prominent venture capitalist Tim Draper opposes Bitcoin’s maximalism and says innovation and progress are the ultimate goals.
The legendary billionaire, who successfully wagered early on Skype and other fledgling companies and accumulated wealth, describes himself as the “majorist of innovation.”
In his latest post, Draper highlights the important nature of Bitcoin, including transparency, immutability and global acceptance.
At the same time, he emphasizes that there is not enough focus on the innovative use cases enabled by Bitcoin.
Draper’s Altcoin Portfolio
The rejection of the Draper in Bitcoin Maximalism is not particularly surprising.
As Reported by U.Todayhe previously revealed that he owns XRP during the 2020 investment conference. In addition to that, he said his portfolio includes Tezos (XTZ) and other altcoins.
The billionaire also attracted criticism for showing support for Bitcoin Cash (BCH), the biggest fork in major cryptocurrencies.
In 2020, he thanked Roger Ver, a top BCH supporter for promoting “innovation” while celebrating the controversial altcoin.
The tweet attracted a fierce backlash from members of the Bitcoin community, but it turns out to be a hack. Draper himself deleted the post and made it clear that it was deleted after doing more “study” on the topic.
