Monad Labs has emerged as a major platform in the blockchain sector. Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) Performance improvements. However, there’s little information about token firing and TGE, so the hype is reduced a bit. Launched in 2022 by Keone Hon, James Hunsaker and Eunice Giarta, the company raised $244 million by all former Jump trading engineers. A $225 million funding round led by Paradigm in April 2024.
The final goal? To achieve 10,000 transactions per second (TPS), 0.5 seconds block time, single slot finality, and minimum gas fees. Monad is fully compatible with Ethereum’s ByteCode and RPC APIs. This means that developers can move apps, tools, and wallets without changing them.
Furthermore, the blockchain platform runs in parallel with EVMs, which are different from Ethereum’s step-by-step approach. Its main components include MonADBFT for consensus, deferred and asynchronous execution, optimistic parallel execution, and a professional state database known as MonADDB, encoded in C++ and RUST. They are intended to increase speed while supporting decentralization, as nodes can run on standard consumer hardware.
Nevertheless, the project is Still on the testnetand the native tokens do not exist yet.
Previous progress: devnet to testnet
The project started with an Internal devnet On March 14th, 2024, they unveiled their 10,000 TPS targets for EVM. The testnet, which was released on February 19, 2025, continued. It is currently running with around 57 validators, with plans to reach hundreds of mainnets. The gas limit is at 300 million per second, heading towards 1 billion.
Growth of the Monad Ecosystem
Monad Labs is committed to building an ecosystem. Starting in September 2024, Mach 1 Accelerator will help Monad teams with basics such as launch, branding and fundraising. Events like Monad Madness host pitch competitions all over the world. Bangkok in November 2024 and Hong Kong in April 2025. These provided over $1 million in awards and opportunities with $60 million in venture funding.
EVM/Accathon Hackathon for Ethdenver 2025 It was launched on February 24, 2025with both virtual and live options and prizes worth over $100,000. Additionally, over 100 projects are currently built in Monad. This covers defi Names such as Kuru Exchange, Apriori Mev, Jigsaw Finance, and more. NFTs were supported by Magic Eden from day one. Games via the game through Sparkball are billed as the first console game of origin in the platform. Also, in July 2025, I was encouraged to pay by purchasing Portal HQ for my Stablecoin setup. Cross-chain work involves connections with wormholes, accelerators and circles, so USDC and CCTP are ready when the mainnet is started. In July 2024, ecosystem procurement included $2 million for Kuru, $10 million for Apriori and $4 million for Kintsu.
The expected timeline for tokens and mainnets
Monad Labs and The Monad Foundation do not publish any information on talknemics, including total supply, distribution, or utilities such as payment fees, staking, or voting. Experts believe that token generation events (TGEs) tie to mainnet rollouts, as often as layer-1 chains do.
DevNet was internal in March 2024, and Testnet was released in February 2025. For MainNet and Token, the second half of 2025 is the consensus, perhaps in the third quarter or Q4. Some are pointed to July to September 2025, while others point to the second half or the end of the year. The unconfirmed X-Post came up on September 8, 2025, but that’s not official. It is also worth noting that no historical speculations occurred for the first or fourth quarter of 2025.
July 10, 2025, via mail @monad_xyz Mainnet joked that it felt like it was “taking forever.” The official website, documentation and other materials do not have a detailed roadmap for the token or mainnet. Airdrop checker or reward discussion is linked to Testnet use November 12, 2025, but nothing is set.

Hurdles and what comes next
Monad aims to deal with the slowdown of Ethereum, but faces competition from high-speed tier 1 like Solana and Sui. Pushbacks from the target for 2024 highlight the challenges of parallel EVM work. Once launched, focus moves to expanding the validator base, conducting security reviews, and driving user growth.
If the token goes live, it may draw buzz from the buildup, but research is essential. As the Layer-1 project progresses, Monad steps could potentially form an EVM-friendly chain.
