In the virtual currency market, the movements of institutional investors centered on Ethereum continue to attract attention. Just recently, BitMine reportedly carried out a high-value Ethereum (ETH) re-staking operation.
According to data reported by Onchain Lens, BitMine re-staked 109,504 ETH. The current market value of this transaction is said to be approximately $344 million.
This move signals the strengthening of BitMine’s long-term strategy for the Ethereum ecosystem. This latest measure increases the total amount of ETH under stake to 908,192 ETH. Based on current prices, BitMine’s total staking portfolio is approximately $2.95 billion. This size makes the company one of the leading institutional investors in the Ethereum staking space.
Restaking refers to the reuse of assets staked on the Ethereum network with an added layer of security and verification. This method aims to strengthen the security of the network and create additional return opportunities for stakers. BitMine’s aggressive growth in this space shows that the company is focused not only on price growth but also on developing Ethereum’s infrastructure.
Market analysts emphasize that restaking operations of this scale will strengthen institutional confidence in the Ethereum ecosystem. The steps taken by companies like BitMine are seen as a potential example for the entire industry, especially in an era where spot ETFs, layer 2 solutions, and staking-based revenue models are the norm.
On the other hand, experts point out that locking up a large amount of ETH in a long-term staking or restaking process could limit the circulating supply and affect market trends. This development is seen as a sign that Ethereum has entered a new stage in its institutional adoption process.
