Michael Saylor, executive chairman of strategy, congratulates the leading Stablecoin Issuer Tether by acquiring 8,888 Bitcoin in the first quarter of 2025.
To mark the end of the first quarter of 2025, Tether purchased 8,888 BTC for around $735 million. The transaction occurred yesterday, March 31, 2025, at 9:58pm (UTC). The company’s total Bitcoin holdings have been increased to 92,646 BTC. Tether’s Bitcoin Holdings dollars are $7.755 billion.
Tether’s Bitcoin Holdings
In particular, the latest acquisitions are consistent with Tether’s strategy of using a portion of their net profit to acquire a Bitcoin quarter. After each acquisition, Tether usually moves the funds to the purse of the reserve at the end of each quarter.
Following the latest transactions, Tether’s reserve wallet ranks sixth in the top 100 of the richest bitcoin addresses. This indicates that the tether address is the sixth largest in terms of the amount of BTC held by a single blockchain wallet.
For context, Tether bought his first Bitcoin in September 2022. Since then, he has begun accumulating Bitcoin and purchased 15% of his net profit in the BTC quarter.
Saylor congratulates Tether
Interestingly, Tether’s latest Bitcoin purchase attracted the attention of executive chairmen of the strategy that congratulated the Stablecoin publishers.
“Congratulations on Bitcoin for 8,888 quarters (for winning)” Sailor said. Commentary suggests that Saylor considers Tether’s purchase of 8,888 BTC to be a significant development worthy of recognition.
Thank you to Michael

Strategic Bitcoin Acquisition
It’s no longer news that Saylor is a leading advocate for Bitcoin’s corporate recruitment. He led the strategy (previously micro-tactics) and acquired Bitcoin from the Ministry of Finance.
Since the company’s first purchase in August 2020, its total Bitcoin holdings have increased to 528,185, currently worth $4418 billion. The strategy acquired 81,785 BTC in nine transactions in the first quarter of 2025.
The most recent purchase occurred on March 31, with 22,048 BTC acquired for $1.92 billion. Unlike Tether, which uses 15% of its net profit to buy BTC, the strategy funds Bitcoin acquisitions with revenue from stock offerings such as MSTR, STRK, and STRF.
The company is confident in its Bitcoin acquisition initiative, as Saylor believes BTC will eventually reach a market capitalization of $500 trillion. This represents a surge of 30,020% from the current valuation of $1.66 trillion. By achieving this milestone, Bitcoin can be increased from its present value of $83,700 to $23.81 million.
