As Solana continues to lock itself as the most performant layer 1 blockchain in speed and cost, some crypto developers are interested in launching their own new blockchains using Solana-based technology.
Witty, there are around 20 of these Solana virtual machine chains – Layer-1, Layer-2 built on various other blockchains, and application-specific chains. But to make it simple, there is Layer-1, which is trying to make Solana Solana out Solana.
Fogo
Fogo is the upcoming Layer-1 that wants to push SVM performance to limit by running the FireDancer Balidator client with a set of permitted Balidators using Multi-Local Consensus.
If that sounds like Word Salad, then just knowing that Fogo’s bet is a few trade-offs on decentralization with Jump’s open source firing code fork, Solana’s software could potentially get even more performance.
Layer-1 raised $8 million at a $100 million valuation through the Crypto CrowdFunding Platform Echo.
pythnet
The popular Solana Oracle Pyth runs a Pyth operator with Pyth operators that provide pricing data to run the validators, and a SVM app chain where Protocol aggregates prices.
Pythnet is the oldest in the list. Surprisingly, Pyth shipped the SVM chain in August 2022.
Because it is a blockchain of data, this chain is less for consumers than other chains, but it is an interesting and decentralized way of streaming price data, and the product has been live for almost three years.
Sora Layer
Solayer initially raised and launched as a Solana Restake protocol, but after Jito took part in the redevelopment race, the restoration became a noisy and frankly, Solayer pivoted to launch its own Layer-1 powered by Infinisvm.
Solayer’s documentation and leadership disputes Solayer’s performance figures, while some Solana developers argue that Solayer’s documentation and leadership can achieve 1 million transactions per second in points.
Jupenet
Solana Defi Giant Jupiter began teasing Jupiter in January as “an omnichine network aimed at aggregating all ciphers into one distributed ledger.”
Little is known about Jupnet yet, but Jupiter co-founder Meow said in a blog post that its so-called Jupiter SVM would agree to both internal Solana transactions and external transactions from other blockchains.
Jupiter has expanded its operations significantly through acquisitions in recent months, but Jupnet still could be the most ambitious venture.
Cube
Cube Exchange is building an SVM L1, co-founder Bartosz Lipinski was confirmed to me in a telegram message.
Through
Thru is built on a new virtual machine called Thruvm, so this is hardly counted, Many conspiracies This all-new project comes from the fact that co-founder Liam Heeger was previously a core engineer working on Solana’s Firedancer client.
So, use your Firedancer credentials to expose the spots in your list.
