Crypto Payments company Ripple confirmed on Wednesday that it submitted an application to the Secretary of Currency (OCC) to obtain the National Bank’s Charter.
Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse shared the news via X on Wednesday. Wall Street Journal.
“Trust to our long-standing roots of compliance, Ripples “We are applying for the National Bank Charter from the OCC,” he wrote.
Ripple’s move comes just two days after USDC Stablecoin Issuer Circle confirmed its own application to secure the National Bank Charter. Anchorage Digital is the only digital asset company currently holding such a charter.
