Nasdaq has submitted a proposal to the SEC to list and trade stocks in 21Shares Dogecoin ETF, a new investment product aimed at tracking the prices of Doge, the most popular Meme Coin.
19b-4 filing Follow the submission of 21 shares S-1 registration Joining the SEC earlier this month for the proposed DogeCoin ETF Grey scale and Bitwise seeking regulatory approval for funds linked to their own Doge.
These proposed ETFs come when interest in Altcoinbase funds has skyrocketed, proven by a wave of a more crypto-friendly regulatory environment under the Trump administration.
The proposed Dogecoin ETF of 21Shares will operate as a passive investment vehicle and will be created and redeemed in a block of 10,000 people through certified participants using cash transactions alone. According to filing, trusts do not employ leverage or derivatives.
Trading ETF stocks is subject to NASDAQ monitoring procedures and trading rules. The exchange must have a minimum of 40,000 shares issued for the initial list.
In supporting this proposal, NASDAQ argues that membership in the Inter-Market Monitoring Group (ISG) can provide a robust surveillance sharing agreement, detecting and thwarting potential operations in the underlying Dogecoin market.
21Shares recently formed an exclusive partnership with House of Doge to launch DogeCoin ETPS. These are the only Dogecoin ETPS approved by the Dogecoin Foundation, and aims to provide institutional grade exposure to Dogecoin.
