Towards more accessible crypto payments
As Telegram’s main custody wallet, the wallet plays an important role in the democratization of cryptocurrency payments, already supporting Bitcoin (BTC), other stubcoin, and Toncoin (TON).
Mercuryo focuses on the user experience and allows users to convert Fiat into digital currency, creating new partnerships and ensuring a more intuitive experience for new entrants into the crypto market.
Users can also purchase Crypto using local currency via debit or credit cards.
Andrew Rogozov, CEO of Telegram’s Wallet, commented on the long-term nature of Mercuryo integration:
“Wallet’s commitment to mass recruitment has always been reflected in the long-term thinking behind our strategy. But up until now, advanced on-ramp fees have been an important barrier for those who want to start using crypto. This will slow down recruitment. This will change with our new partnership with Mercuryo and a new approach during ramping.”
With wallets that provide access to BTC, TON, Jettons and Mercuryo, supporting multiple Fiat currencies, the collaboration simplifies crypto transactions and provides a cost-effective payment solution for users around the world.
