Kite, the company developing Agent Web infrastructure, raised $18 million in the Series A round, raising its total funding to $33 million. The round was led by PayPal Ventures and General Catalyst, and introduced participation from 8VC, Samsung Next, SBI US Gateway Fund, Vertex Ventures, Hashed, Hashkey Capital, Alumni Ventures, Avalanche Foundation, GSR Markets, Layerzero, Anamoca Brands, Essence VC and Alchemy.
Formerly known as Zettablock, Kite builds distributed systems designed for autonomous agents. The team has previously developed large-scale real-time data infrastructure for distributed networks such as SUI, Polygon, Chainlink, and Eigenlayer.
Kite recently launched Kite Agent Identity Resolution (Kite Air), a system that allows autonomous drugs to authenticate, pay and operate independently. This includes two important features: the Agent Passport, which provides a verifiable identity using security controls, and the Agent App Store, which allows agents to access and pay for services such as APIs and Commerce tools. The platform is integrated with PayPal and Shopify, allowing merchants to opt in and discover AI agents. Transactions are resolved on-chain using stubcoins with full traceability.
