Donald Trump uses strict language against Russia in his statement. He announced that 100% “secondary tariffs” would be imposed on Russia within 50 days if an agreement with the Moscow regime cannot be reached.
Trump said these tariffs can be implemented without needing Congressional approval, saying, “Second tariffs are very strong. They can be implemented without Senate approval.” He also added that Republican senators are preparing to take strong action on the issue.
Trump said the US will take on the production of weapons from NATO countries, and NATO members will cover the costs of the production.
“We produce and they pay.”
Trump said the US will provide NATO with billions of dollars worth of military equipment, and that these weapons will soon be delivered to Ukraine. He also announced that the Patriot missile will be shipped to Ukraine.
Trump said Russia completely destroyed Ukraine’s electrical infrastructure and attacked Putin, saying, “Russia could have been a great country, but it deceived people. This is a huge shame.”
Ukraine said it was at a disadvantage when it came to war equipment, and Trump added that NATO would send more military support to Ukraine.
Trump said Ukraine should continue to pursue peace, and that NATO executive director Mark Latte will guide Ukraine on the issue.
“This is an opportunity for peace,” Trump said, arguing that trade could be effective in solving wars.
Trump also said he frequently met with Russian President Vladimir Putin, but these meetings mean nothing. “Putin is launching another missile attack after the meeting.”
Still, Trump believed there was a possibility of an agreement with Putin, saying, “Putin must save his country and his economy.”
Trump said strong Europe is good for the US too. He has a positive argument with Germany and said he will pursue a more friendly trade policy with European countries.
Trump also aimed to give birth to Chairman Jerome Powell, saying, “Powell doesn’t know what he’s doing. But tariffs are at work and the economy is strong.”
