Arthur Hayes, a co-founder of Bitmex and a well-known figure in the cryptocurrency market, has sold crypto assets totaling around $13.5 million in the past six hours.
According to on-chain data, Hayes’ assets are:
- 2,373 Ethereum (ETH) – Approximately $8.6 million
- 7.76 million Ethena (ENA) – Approximately $4.56 million
- 3.887 billion Pepe (Pepe) – Approximately $411,000
Hayes issued the following statement on social media after the sale:
why? The US has tariffs scheduled for the third quarter. At the very least, that’s what the market thinks after non-agricultural payroll (NFP) data. None of the major economies can generate credits quickly enough to boost nominal GDP. So Bitcoin tests $100,000 and Ethereum tests $3,000.
Bitcoin prices have recently fallen from $120,000 to $113,000. The Ethereum decline is even more severe, with prices falling below $3,500, down 2.8% over the past 24 hours.
