The US Federal Reserve (FED) will hold a conference on October 21st focused on innovations in crypto payments.
The Fed’s Payments Innovation Conference brings together regulators, financial institutions, and technology experts to consider developments in the payments ecosystem.
This FED conference will focus on cryptocurrencies, discussing Bitcoin (BTC), stablecoins, other cryptocurrencies, and blockchain-supported payment systems.
The conference aims to highlight the growing importance of cryptocurrencies in the financial world by addressing developments and challenges in the digital payments field.
The Fed will host a conference on payments innovation, bringing together leading industry experts to share their views on the changing landscape of money and payments. The Fed welcomes the opportunity to consider a wide range of perspectives to further innovate and improve payment systems. The meeting will be streamed live on federalreserve.gov and YouTube.
The official conference program will begin with a speech by Federal Reserve Board Director Christopher J. Waller. The first session will begin with a roundtable discussion titled “Bridging Traditional Finance and Digital Asset Ecosystems” moderated by Rebecca Rettig of Jito Labs.
This session will feature Chainlink CEO Sergey Nazarov, Lead Bank CEO Jackie Reses, Fireblocks CEO Michael Shaulov, and BNY executive Jennifer Barker.
The second session is titled “Stablecoin Use Cases and Business Models” and will be moderated by Kyle Samani of Multicoin Capital. Also appearing will be Paxos CEO Charles Cascarilla, Circle President Heath Tarbert, Fifth Third Bank CEO Tim Spence, and Dollar App CEO Fernando Terres.
The third session is titled “Artificial Intelligence in Payments” and will be moderated by Matt Marcus from Modern Treasury. Participants include Coinbase CFO Alesia Haas, Ark Invest CEO Cathie Wood, Stripe’s Emily Sands, and Google Cloud’s General Manager of Web3 and Digital Assets James Tromans.
The fourth and final session is “Tokenize Products,” moderated by Colleen Sullivan of Brevan Howard Digital. Participants include BlackRock COO Rob Goldstein, Franklin Templeton CEO Jenny Johnson, DRW CEO Don Wilson, and JPM Kinexys Co-Chairman Carla Kennedy.
