Ethereum price remains under pressure as social sentiment across major cryptocurrency platforms has fallen to one of its weakest levels in recent weeks. However, historical data shared by Santiment shows that similar periods of pessimism have been followed by short-term price recoveries in the past.
At the same time, other market data highlighted that institutional demand for ETFs continues to grow behind the scenes.
Ethereum price sentiment turns bearish again
Santiment reported that Ethereum’s positive-to-negative ratio of social comments has turned bearish for the third time in the past month. The data tracked discussions across X, Reddit, Telegram, and other crypto communities while comparing sentiment and Ethereum market performance.
According to the graph, the decline in sentiment so far has had different results. On June 27, Ethereum’s price rose 14% over the next seven days following bearish social commentary. A similar pattern appeared on July 11, when after another round of negative sentiment, assets rose 7% over the next four days.

The latest readings showed that sentiment fell to one of the lowest levels in the observed period, as Ethereum price traded around $1,856 after retreating from recent highs. Santiment noted that negative emotions alone do not predict a quick recovery.
However, the firm said that while ETF inflows, Layer 2 activity and protocol development remain strong, an initial period of widespread dissatisfaction has coincided with a subsequent price rebound.
Ethereum Technical indicators continue to show average strength
The Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) remained in positive territory, with the MACD line at 37.88 and the signal line at 37.84. However, the flattening of the histogram indicated that the buying momentum was weakening.

The 14-day RSI was 54.87, above the neutral 50 mark indicating moderate buying strength. However, it has pulled back from recent highs above 60, indicating that Ethereum is losing momentum after approaching the $1,900 resistance level.
Despite the socio-emotional weakness, Ethereum continues to show signs of potential resilience. Historical sentiment patterns, stable ETF demand, and neutral to positive technical indicators suggest that investors remain active even as the market awaits a clearer directional catalyst.
