Bybit has announced plans for operational and structural changes that will impact users in the European Economic Area (EEA) as it advances regulatory compliance efforts in the region ahead of the July 1 deadline for the European Union’s Markets in Cryptoassets (MiCA) regulation.
According to the announcement, certain Bybit Global services will be phased out for EEA residents.
The exchange said users affected by the changes will receive advance notice explaining the implementation schedule and providing guidance on managing existing and new positions. Users will continue to have access to stored assets during the migration.
Bybit said further updates will be issued as additional information becomes available and urged users to follow official announcements regarding account-related developments. The company added that its support team will continue to respond to user inquiries during the transition.
This change affects residents of 29 EEA countries, excluding Malta, where Bybit EU licenses are not currently passported.
Bybit EU launches cashback campaign
According to a separate statement on Monday, Bybit EU launched a “Move Funds, Earn Rewards” campaign ahead of the MiCA transition deadline, offering incentives to attract new users to the Austria-based MiCA-licensed crypto platform.
Under the program, eligible users can receive welcome bonuses, temporary VIP upgrades, card incentives, and up to 3% annual cashback on eligible crypto deposits, with benefits available until July 31st.
Bybit EU said this initiative supports Europe’s transition to a unified regulatory framework for crypto assets based on MiCA and strengthens the company’s strategy to expand its presence across the EEA through compliant local regulation-compliant operations.
“Europe is laying the foundations for a more mature and sustainable digital asset ecosystem,” Bybit EU CEO Mazurka Zen said in a statement. “As the transition to MiCAR continues, users increasingly value a platform designed with clarity, continuity, and long-term regulatory compliance in mind. Bybit EU was founded to support that future, and this campaign reflects our commitment to making the transition worthwhile for users who choose to move their funds to a licensed platform.”
