of $XRP Ledger (XRPL) plans to activate version 3.2.0 of its core server software on June 15th. Although this update does not introduce any major features for users, it includes several changes aimed at improving the long-term operation of the network.
Most notably, the name of the server software has changed from “rippled” to “xrpld.” This is a move aimed at better reflecting the broader XRPL ecosystem and reducing confusion with other Ripple-related products.
Improved network efficiency and stability
After the upgrade, when node operators check the software version, they see “xrpld 3.2.0” on the command line. Developers said the changes reflect increased developer independence and technological maturity. $XRP Ledger infrastructure.
This release also significantly improves overall network performance. According to the developers, server memory usage can be reduced by up to 40%, which allows nodes to operate more efficiently even when demand increases.
In addition to memory optimizations, this update introduces additional system-wide improvements. These changes are designed to improve overall network efficiency. It also supports increased transaction throughput as activity expands across decentralized finance, tokenization, and real-world asset applications.
Version 3.2.0 includes multiple bug fixes and technical improvements in addition to performance upgrades. Improvements in number processing, rounding logic, and core code maintenance are aimed at enhancing network stability without impacting the end user experience.
Notably, the upcoming release follows the rollout of version 3.1.3 on the XRPL mainnet in late May. Previous updates fixed issues related to NFTs, allowed domains, vaults, lending protocols, and multipurpose tokens.

Most XRPL nodes have already been upgraded
According to network data, approximately 84% of XRPL nodes have already adopted version 3.1.3. This level of adoption suggests that the ecosystem is preparing for a relatively smooth transition to the new software version.
The developer encourages validators and node operators to update their systems before the activation date. Servers remaining on older versions may face limitations in fully participating in consensus and other network functions after upgrading.
In addition to preparing for the upgrade, this release also includes security enhancements going on behind the scenes. Expanding AI-assisted testing and aggressive bug bounty efforts are part of broader measures designed to strengthen the ledger. These efforts aim to improve resilience as institutional and blockchain-based use cases continue to expand.
