$XRP Ledger sidechain Xahau is gaining traction amid the launch of blockchain-based payments for euro remittances to Ethiopia.
Global payments infrastructure company TerraPay has announced the launch of blockchain-based payments for domestic remittances to Ethiopia in partnership with Oromia Cooperative Bank. The initiative supports the flow of euro-denominated remittances from Europe and was developed in collaboration with the Inclusive Financial Technology Foundation (INFTF).
INFTF and TerraPay collaborated with Ethiopia’s financial authorities to establish a regulatory and technical framework for blockchain-based domestic remittance payments.
Major milestones in the Xahau roadmap have been completed.

At the core of this effort is the use of the Xahau blockchain as a payment layer.
The official Xahau X account highlighted this in a recent tweet, noting that major milestones in the Xahau roadmap have been completed, while pointing to the increasing usability of the Xahau blockchain.
