Calci partners with XP to bring regulated prediction market to Brazil
Kalshi, one of the largest regulated prediction market platforms, has taken its first steps towards international expansion.
The company has partnered with XP International, an XP Group company, to provide prediction markets to customers in Brazil. Following this transaction, XP Group, which serves more than 4.7 million customers and has more than $345 billion in assets under management (AUM), will become the first company to offer these services outside the United States through its brokerage subsidiary Clear.

Customers with international accounts can leverage their funds to invest in multiple prediction markets. According to Kalsi, the focus of the partnership is to enable investors to participate in “financial and economic events,” as these events have “the potential to increase pricing efficiency and improve the quality of market information.”
Luana López Lara, co-founder and chief operating officer (COO) of Carsi, said:
“As a Brazilian, I couldn’t be more excited for XP to be Carsi’s first intermediary partner outside the United States. XP is one of the largest financial institutions in Brazil. Expanding our prediction markets to Brazil is an important step in providing more people around the world with access to a fair, secure, and regulated market.”
The companies did not provide detailed information on which prediction markets will be available for investment, but explained that these opportunities will be offered “aggressively and tailored to customer profiles and regulatory requirements.” XP also strengthened its “commitment to financial education, governance, and providing legitimate means for investors to make better decisions.”
After the CVM, Brazil’s equivalent of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), approved the first prediction markets as financial securities in February, there is still active debate about which agency should oversee these markets. Analysts believe that responsibility for this could lie with the CVM, the central bank or the Ministry of Finance.
