Ethereum (ETH) continues to struggle for new upward momentum after the crash it experienced in the final months of 2025.
At the moment, there are both bullish and bearish predictions for ETH in 2026, with the latest prediction coming from Standard Chartered.
Standard Chartered, a major British bank, has made a very bold prediction: “2026 will be the year of Ethereum.”
Although Bitcoin’s downturn had a negative impact on the overall cryptocurrency market, Ethereum’s fundamental indicators are showing signs of improvement, he said.
At this point, Jeffrey Kendrick, head of global digital asset research at Standard Chartered, maintained that Ethereum will outperform other cryptocurrencies in 2026, although he has revised down some of his short-term price predictions due to overall crypto market weakness.
“Just like 2021, I think 2026 will be the year of Ethereum. Increased adoption of blockchain and on-chain products is one of the factors that will significantly improve Ethereum’s performance.”
Among them, ETH’s dominant position in stablecoins, RWA, and DeFi stands out.
Standard Chartered has lowered its multi-year target for Ethereum, but still predicts ETH to reach $7,500 by the end of 2026. The bank previously expected ETH to reach $12,000 by the end of 2026.
Looking to other years, the bank predicts ETH to close at $15,000 in 2027 and $22,000 in 2028.
The bank lowered its previous forecasts for 2026, 2027 and 2028, but instead raised its long-term outlook, raising its year-end forecast for 2029 to $30,000. They also set a new year-end goal for 2030 of $40,000.
