Multiple floods hit central Vietnam in November, displacing thousands of residents and causing widespread damage to homes, roads and critical infrastructure. Many local and international organizations are quickly coordinating to carry out relief operations. Binance Charity, the philanthropic arm of global blockchain company Binance, is one such organization. The company announced today, November 25, 2025, on social media platform

The donation, worth approximately VND5.3 billion, was officially announced at a meeting held in Ho Chi Minh City on November 21 between representatives of Binance Charity and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF), the national body that directs and supervises large-scale relief efforts across the affected provinces.
Emergency support/reconstruction support
Binance Philanthropy said the funds will be used to support families in the hardest-hit areas so they can access supplies, temporary shelter, and other critical necessities as recovery and reconstruction efforts begin. The project also aims to support long-term reconstruction efforts, helping people rebuild their livelihoods and get local economies back on track after the floods.
VFF Deputy Director Nguyen Hai Nam thanked Binance Charity for its timely support and said, “A good leaf protects a torn leaf.” This proverb shows that Binance donations reflect the spirit of helping and protecting each other during difficult times.
Strengthening humanitarian engagement in the region
Seekar SB, Head of Asia Pacific at Binance, said the donation is part of Binance’s broader support for the Southeast Asian community and hopes it will help alleviate the impact of the floods. Binance Charity has also been working on relief, environmental and community development projects with various partners in Vietnam in recent years.
Support record in Vietnam
This donation is not new. Binance has made efforts to support the Vietnamese community in the past. In 2024, the organization conducted an emergency campaign after Typhoon Yagi and sent BNB worth $1 million to victims. The team also worked with local governments to install large-scale water filtration systems in 10 provinces in the Mekong Delta, where salt water is damaging homes and farmland.
Binance Charity will also partner with Binh Thuan’s Earthworm Foundation to plant 10,000 trees to help restore damaged forests. Additionally, we worked with Giggle Academy on educational programs for children in underserved communities. All of these initiatives demonstrate the group’s goal of using technology to support people and the environment.
Examples of fast-growing and impactful crypto philanthropy
Crypto philanthropy is on the rise and is changing the way philanthropy is done. Since transactions are carried out online, they are fast and borderless, and the best part is that you can easily track your transactions. In 2024, more than $1 billion was donated to nonprofit organizations in cryptocurrencies. It is said that donations will reach $2.5 billion by 2025.
A prime example is the Pineapple Fund, which was founded in 2017 by anonymous donors who donated more than $86 million in Bitcoin to various causes.
CZ has donated over $500,000 in cryptocurrencies to earthquake relief efforts in Myanmar and Thailand, and approximately $100,000 to support victims of rug pulling scams. CZ has announced his intention to donate up to 99% of his assets, demonstrating a strong commitment to crypto-based philanthropy that emphasizes transparency and utilizes blockchain-enabled philanthropic projects.
