According to the latest data, Bitcoin’s computing power has risen to a staggering all-time high of 1,157 exahashes per second (EH/s). This hashrate rise didn’t require a coffee break, even though prices have fallen and mining profits feel more like leftovers than a feast.
Bitcoin’s computational power game levels up
Heading into the weekend, Bitcoin’s hashrate is currently sitting at a very high 1.1489 zetahashes per second (ZH/s). Well, for those keeping score, that’s an amazing 1,148.90 exahash per second (EH/s).
According to data from hashrateindex.com, Bitcoin’s computational power peaked at 8 a.m. Eastern Time, peaking at 1,157 EH/s, or 1.157 ZH/s in real life. So far, less than 400 of the 2,016 blocks in the current epoch have been mined, but block times are progressing much faster, as if you had three shots of espresso.

Shortly after the latest difficulty adjustment, Bitcoin.com News noted that the average block time on October 16th was even slower, hovering around 10 minutes and 21 seconds. Fast forward two days to October 18th and the time has dropped to 9 minutes and 29 seconds, recasting the prediction for the next difficulty re-goal set on October 29, 2025.
At the time, expectations were for a 3.39% rise, but as of today, that estimate has ballooned to a 5.43% rise. Despite BTC price hovering between $106,500 and $107,250, mining income isn’t necessarily having a party. One month ago, on September 18, the hash price, or the price you could win at 1 petahash per second (PH/s), was $54.71. As of Saturday, that interest rate had fallen by 15.61% to $46.17 per petahash.
In other words, while Bitcoin’s hash rate is breaking records as if on a mission, the profits of BTC miners are less compared to how busy they are, proof that more power does not necessarily mean more profits. Miners may want to buckle up as block times accelerate and it becomes harder to prepare for the bigger bite on October 29th. This is a high-stakes hash-and-chase game, and at this price, every Equahash is sweating for a paycheck. efficiency? Required. Drama? Guaranteed.
