Central Asian countries have established themselves as regional crypto leaders with more than 120 licensed virtual asset service providers as of September 2024. In September 2025, Kyrgyzstan established advanced laws to create a legal framework for Stable Coins and the state-owned mining industry.
The country’s digital strategy includes tokenizing real-world assets and establishing state cryptocurrency sanctuaries through government mining. Kyrgyzstan has also developed USDKG, a gold-backed stub coin designed to provide financial security and transparency.
The country’s approach involves licensing exchanges and building digital infrastructures, creating institutional-level foundations in contrast to patchy retail recruitment elsewhere in Central Asia.
