- Upbit, a major Korean crypto exchange, is planning to launch the Ethereum Layer 2 network.
- The new Layer 2 uses the OP stack framework based on optimistic open source technology.
\upbit has announced plans to launch the Ethereum Layer 2 network using OP Stack technology, according to the documentation released today.
Korean Crypto Exchange deploys scaling solutions built on the optimistic open source OP stack framework. Layer 2 networks aim to reduce user transaction costs and speed up user processing while maintaining compatibility with Ethereum MainNet.
The OP stack provides the underlying infrastructure that enhances Optimism’s Layer 2 solution and allows other projects to build their own custom blockchain networks. The technology uses optimistic rollups to bundle transactions from the main Ethereum chain before sedimenting them into the base layer.
Upbit will serve as one of Korea’s largest digital asset trading platforms. Exchange does not disclose a timeline for specific technical specifications for launching or implementing a Layer 2 network.
