Wyoming’s Stable Token Committee has announced that Frontier Stable Tokens (FRNTs) will be available in Hedera. Hedera was selected during the Commission’s second quarter review as the only additional blockchain supporting FRNT, meeting the requirements for speed, reliability and regulatory adjustments.
Created under Wyoming’s Stable Token Act of 2023, FRNT is supported by the US Dollar and the Short-Term Treasury Department, adding an additional 2% reserve to ensure stability. Proceeds from the Treasury Department’s profits go to the Wyoming School Foundation program. FRNT is being tested for contractor payments, emergency spending, and various public services applications.
Hedera was chosen for its rapid settlement, low fixed fees, and governance model tailored to regulatory needs. Hedera offers the scale and efficiency of public payments with its capacity of 10,000 transactions per second and carbon-negative networks. FRNT has already been tested for use by contractors, such as emergency spending.
