BOSTON, MA – BeatFarm launched the world’s first Bitcoin Native Music NFT protocol, providing artists with the ability to directly create, trade and monetize work on the world’s most decentralized blockchain.
–
Unlike Ethereum or Sidechain-based platforms, BeatFarm uses the Bitcoin computer protocol to build directly into the base layer of Bitcoin. In other words, tokens are not the only songs created by BeatFarm. They are unchanging owned digital assets with royalties and rights highlighted in Bitcoin itself.
“Other platforms force Bitcoin into Ethereum-type molds. Beat farms build directly from the basic principles of Bitcoin, sovereignty, resistance to censorship, and permanence. This is a much-needed cultural and economic change.”
Ian Anderson, Beat Farm Board Advisor
How it works
Bitcoin Native Music NFTS: Trucks are minted directly in Bitcoin as a permanent and possessable asset.
Royalty enforcement: UTXO-based smart contracts automate payments for transparent artists.
Distributed Storage: Music files are stored in IPF, and metadata is stored in ordinal numbers.
Unreliable Transactions: Atomic swaps allow direct peer-to-peer exchanges.
Super Fan Engagement: Artists can engrave exclusive drops, live performances and premium content directly into the chain.
Each release is created as a TBC20 token, embedding royalties and rights. The artist ensures that pricing, rarity and royalty are split up with mint, and that smart contracts automatically route all resale to creators.
Growth Market
Global retail music sales are on track to exceed $44 billion by 2024, and are projected to reach $53 billion by 2028 (Omdia, 2024). BeatFarm aims to capture some of this growth by offering Web3-Native e-commerce tools. Artists and labels offer the ability to engrave music, live sets and fan exclusives while retaining more revenue than traditional platforms.
Early Milestones
First Live Music Inscription: BeatFarm Etched “Back to the Start” Live Token 2049 Singapore directly to Bitcoin and ESC.
Yelo Partnership: Unlock access to Indian and Sri Lankan film score catalogs.
Release of Fair Inscription: The first token rollout was led directly by artists who solidify Beat Farm’s community first ethos.
“BeatFarm offers artists the tools to control their music, connect with super fans and ultimately compensated fairly. For the first time, music can live forever on Bitcoin.
Alex Panos, co-founder of Beatfarm
Bitcoin solidifies its role as the backbone of digital value, so Beat Farm shows that music also belongs there. It’s not just a new platform for artists, it’s a cultural shift in how music is owned, traded and experienced in the Web3 era.
