A nonprofit organization called Somos Axolotl has launched a conservation effort to utilize the Solana community.
The Crypto Ecosystem has a long history of charitable and conservation purposes. One such project, Solana (Sol) Balidator Somos Axolotl, recently launched a conservation initiative in Mexico City aimed at conserving the endangered species Axolotl.
Focusing on Xochimilco’s historic area, the project combines public sculpture, conservation and community outreach with the crypto community. Its goal is to restore the habitat of the iconic yet endangered species Axolotl Amphibian in the Xochimilco Canal System.

The project will also use funds to promote regenerative agriculture for local residents and promote economic opportunities. Additionally, all funding for the project comes from the operation of the Solana Validator node.
Supporters of Solana Holders can assist with their projects by staking SOLs with Somos Axolotl Validators. They receive staking rewards, as they contribute to the conservation of axolotl, as they do with other validators. In particular, Somos Axolotl is currently the only non-commercial verification device on the Solana blockchain.

Solana Balidators: A great opportunity for nonprofits?
Interestingly, the Solana Validator node offers a unique opportunity for nonprofits. Specifically, execution of execution valator nodes has a high fixed cost. However, once the node is set up, it is very scalable, meaning it can serve many stakers.
At the same time, validators’ revenues increase linearly with the amount of sols they bet together with them. This means that large validators can provide the same services as smaller services while operating at a higher profit margin.
Therefore, if the balliters can attract users through charitable or conservation initiatives, they will gain competitiveness against the for-profit organization. This could help more and more nonprofits join the Solana Ecosystem, secure their networks and become more decentralized.
