Analysts call one of Crypto’s most unimportant but unknown figures Arthur Britt after a decade of silence and a rare public message from the founder of XRP.
In a series of tweets, the widespread presence of XRP analyst All Things XRP, Arthur Britto, one of Ripple’s original architects, shining the spotlight. He described Britt as a key figure in the history of code.
The Hidden Founder of Ripple
Arthur Britt co-founded Ripple Lab in particular in 2012 with David Schwartz, Chris Larsen and Jed McCaleb. More importantly, he aims to help build XRP ledgers as an alternative to Bitcoin, providing faster, more scalable, and more energy-efficient transactions.
Britto played a pivotal role in shaping the XRP design as a decentralized payment system aimed at disrupting traditional finance. Focusing on low rates and fast, XRP aims to address the inefficiencies that plague early cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin. His early contributions helped establish XRP as one of the top digital assets by market capitalization.
Unlike his co-founder, however, Britt has largely circumvented the spotlight and rarely gets published or allowed to interview.
What about Arthur Britt Satoshi?
Despite his legacy, his identity is little known. As a result, Britto’s extreme privacy was compared to that of Nakamoto Satoshi, creator of Bitcoin.
There is no evidence to support this theory, but some speculate that Britt could be himself. Interestingly, some find humorous hints on Satoshi’s last known public appearance, which coincided with the launch of the XRP ledger.
Meanwhile, the 2% stake in XRP, secured in the 2012 deal, further strengthened Ripple’s influence in the foundation.
A mysterious return 14 years later
Last month, Britt came out of the shadows again and posted a single emoji on X. This post was verified by Ripple CTO David Schwartz and sparked a wave of speculation.
Some have suggested it is a subtle hint about the major developments of the XRP ecosystem.
Interestingly, the XRP community has widely returned to Britto ambitious predictions that XRP could one day reach $10,000. However, this remains unconfirmed.
Still, are you pulling the strings quietly?
Britto continues to stay behind the scenes, but he continues to be active in blockchain innovation through Polysign, the cryptocurrency protection infrastructure company he co-founded.
In particular, Polysign is the parent company of Standard Custody & Trust Company, and is now part of Ripple, and is called Ripple Custody. The company offers agency-grade digital asset custody services.
Essentially, XRP supporters believe that Britt remains largely invisible to the general public, but his quiet influence continues to shape Ripple’s wider strategic direction. But this remains speculative.
